Course Description
M. Tech in Wireless and Mobile Communications (WMC) offered by the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department provides the budding engineers with a spectacular array of courses dedicated to frontiers in the field of wireless and mobile communications, 5G, 6G and beyond, antenna design for wireless communication with a foundation of Communication Engg. The 2-year full-time program presents exposure to hands-on technologies to create applications and solutions for the world that we live in.? The M.Tech. Program in WMC is especially designed for young innovators to provide them a breadth as well as depth for designing systems and network for the current era of IOT, 5G, 6G and all future portable wireless communication systems and devices.

- This M.Tech. Program is intended to focus on to generate trained academic, research and industry ready personnel in the highly demanding, useful and emerging area of wireless and mobile communications.?
- The program focuses on core subjects from Wireless Communications, antenna engineering, Computer networks, advanced topics in wireless communications, mobile computing, sensor networks, machine learning, signal processing, multimedia systems and applications such as 5G, 6G and beyond network and Communication, smart city landslide detection, environmental monitoring, smart agriculture, transportation, environment monitoring, healthcare, and smart wearable etc.

With the growing pace of communication and globalization, wired communication technology is increasingly being ??replaced by cheaper, smarter and easier wireless communication. Popular areas of employment include Telecommunication Engineering, Satellite Communication, Manufacturing and Operation of telecommunication devices, etc. in both government and private sector. Some of the top private MNCs which require wireless and mobile communications engineers are Qualcom, L&T, Intel, Philips R&D, Samsung R&D, Siemens, Alcatel Lucent, IBM, Bosch,? Texas Instruments, Connect Broadband, Wipro, Tata Telecommunication, Mercedes, CISCO? etc. Similarly many government PSUs, which recruit communication engineers, are ISRO, DRDO, BHEL, BEL, ONGC, AAI, BSNL, HAL, BDL etc.
